Battle Royale

Battle Royale

I was in my room on a call with one of my friends. I told him I will start working on homework when I finish one match of this victory royale game. I was turning it on to play on my Ipad and suddenly I was sucked into the game. I woke up on the outskirts of a rocky, dense Jungle. I was lying in a large field, there was a mostly dried-out riverbed behind me, and next to it was a large water tower made of old, rotting wood like the ones in Colorado from the gold rush era. Everything, the sky, the water, the grass, even the jungle, had a tint of yellowish-green. I soon realized why.

When I got up from the ground, I saw a huge cloud of gas, bigger than any dustbowl storm. It was swirling like a storm, ready to consume the island when the game commanded it to.

After I had gotten my bearings, I realized that I was holding TAQ-56, and in a holster on my right leg was some type of pistol. As soon as I knew I was ready, I got straight to fighting. I quickly recognized that it was going to be incredibly hard to win. I was in a battle where there were teams with up to 3 players, and I was all alone.

My first encounter with a team was about 15 seconds after I got off the ground. A loud team of 3 was running across the field. They climbed up the wooden water tower and jumped off towards the riverbed. They hadn’t seen me since I was lying down, so I took that opportunity to pick them off in a flank. My rifle had an ACOG scope, so I could easily hit them. When I fired my first few shots, I had already taken out all the armour that one of them had. Before they even realized where I was, I was able to kill all three of them. Surprised, I looked down at my smoking rifle and saw that it had a silencer on it. This was a huge advantage going forward.

I wasn’t able to take anything good from them because they didn’t have any ammo that my rifle took, so I kept moving along the jungle’s edge until I saw an old, abandoned house. Outside, there were 2 unassuming people talking, and I heard one guy just behind the front door. I was situated on the east side of the house in the riverbed—I had been following the riverbed— when one of the guys outside heard me. Their chatter went quiet, and I heard them moving from the house towards me. I threw a grenade over the hill at them. One of them yelled something about dodging a grenade, but I was too late. One of them lay in pieces on the floor as his other teammate was screaming for me to show myself. I climbed up the hill with my rifle lifted and killed him before he saw me. As all of this happened, the man inside didn’t move an inch, so I broke through the west window of the house into the main floor, which was one room. I saw him standing there holding a hunting rifle aimed out the door. I instantly realized I had used all the ammo for my rifle, so I beat him with the butt of my rifle until he collapsed. I heard something that sounded like I picked up ammo, and sure enough, my rifle had more ammo.

Before I even left the house, I heard the voice of these girls yapping up a storm close to the beach shores of the island. They were about 50 yards out, so I situated myself on some boulders just east of the abandoned house and shot all three of these girls’ armor off. They all were screaming, and they all ran into the jungle. I didn’t worry about chasing them because I knew they weren’t a threat.

Suddenly, a loud voice from above informed the last teams that the clouds of gas outside the island would start advancing to corner all the teams in the jungle. I wasted no time running up a large incline into the jungle. I instantly heard the girls talking in panicked voices about 30 yards off. I started shooting through the greenery in hopes of eliminating all of them. I killed 2 of them. One ran away completely unarmed.

After a couple of seconds thinking about what I should do, I saw yet another old abandoned house on the top of the cliff I had just climbed. There was someone inside, but this time it was a grandma who just stared at me when I entered the house. I felt like it was a trap so I left to wander deeper into the jungle.

Later on, about 2 minutes, I picked off the last girl from a tree as she blindly taunted me. There were only 2 people left: me and someone from school. He held a spool of Pokémon-themed ribbon, and we had a crazy hand-to-hand combat in a flat area in the jungle. Eventually, I told him I had won, I had him in a choke hold and was poking his hands with a knive until he forfeited, and after about 30 seconds, he did so. I was crowned victor and spat out of the iPad where I had been the last while.
